Evening all, 3 years into my pool and thinking that the filter wasn’t sized correctly. 12k gallons, 3hp pentair variable speed pump with a CC100 casing. It’s now leaking due to splitting at the seam by the drain valve on the bottom center. So my question is, do I need to upgrade to a CC150 to handle the pressure? Appreciate and welcome any advice. As a bandaid I’ve got it fixed with plastic JB Weld that can handle up to 4450 psi.

Your bandaid is dangerous and you risk the filter exploding and injuring someone. You should turn off the pump until the filter is replaced.

Any size filter can handle the pressure from a pool pump. However the larger the filter the less often you will need to clean it.

I recommend you replace your filter with a 300+ or 400+ sq in filter.
