After waiting six months for permits, we finally broke ground last week. It feels like it’s smaller than I expected, but I’m hoping it will feel bigger once done. It is only 28x14 due to limitations because of electrical poles lining our yard and I didn’t want the entire yard to be pool since I have kids and dogs and we are out here all the time year round. Excavation took two days and rebar took two more. Plumbing and electrical go in starting tomorrow. How does it look so far? Anything I should be checking on at this point?48FECF52-3E56-41CD-8912-FB904CF4B03B.jpeg0328186E-0E46-4AAD-8714-A0DD43CD7DD0.jpeg

It is always good to check dimensions. You can estimate 8inch thickness of gunite on each wall and 6 inch on floor. Verify that pool finished dimensions then match to your requirements.

Ensure the rebar is not laying in the dirt. You should have supports under it about 3 inch high. This ensures you get gunite surrounding your rebar. Same with walls, your rebar should be away from the dirt by 3-4 inches.

Once they lay plumbing, take lots of pictures of pipe in the trench and how it enters the pool. If you are chasing a leak in the future or want to dig around your pool for landscape - it is good to know where the pipes are.

Thank you so much. We are measuring everything again today and I love taking progress pictures, so that part is easy :).

Things are moving very quickly. I love seeing it all come together. They did the plumbing and electrical these past few days. They were a little behind a new I was shocked to see them show up on a Sunday, but they did and got it finished today. They have a tight schedule because we have inspection and shotcrete coming this week. 063841EE-F9C2-4E1E-9D07-2A32B29999D5.jpeg063841EE-F9C2-4E1E-9D07-2A32B29999D5.jpeg6149F066-F0F3-46D2-95FF-0701629E19AF.jpeg063841EE-F9C2-4E1E-9D07-2A32B29999D5.jpeg6149F066-F0F3-46D2-95FF-0701629E19AF.jpeg6149F066-F0F3-46D2-95FF-0701629E19AF.jpeg6149F066-F0F3-46D2-95FF-0701629E19AF.jpeg063841EE-F9C2-4E1E-9D07-2A32B29999D5.jpegBF748364-FED8-4639-9C69-E2D9EA02489D.jpegF1E4541D-B7E9-465C-90F5-DF05F6887846.jpeg20280016-B03B-450B-AB84-92CC4618576F.jpegA362EF75-17F9-42DC-A348-29995F4C4FA2.jpegDFA2E3A4-41D3-4F2D-BAE8-2A7DD9BD9E9D.jpeg

It looks like the main drain is tied into the skimmer in the deep. If it could still be changed I'd opt for it to be a home run dedicated line to the equipment pad and would very easy to still have that done. It'll give you more control on the suction side of things.

Thank you, I will ask about that.

It'll also helps if and when the water gets below skimmer height for whatever may arise in the future then the main drain can keep the filter going otherwise you couldn't have the option.
Should having autofill help avoid this most of the time if we can’t get them back out here to change it? The guys were here until 5 pm today (Sunday) so I am assuming the have a tight schedule and another job starting tomorrow.
