Yes. Pool and RV antifreeze are the same, which is different from the (toxic) automotive antifreeze. At least in the US. Yours should still be labeled non toxic hopefully. Chlorine will neutralize pool/RV antifreeze.
If you have a pump to waste setting, it's easy to prime the pump to waste and save half of it (the suction side) from going in the pool in the first place. I used my shop vac exhaust to blow the return side from the returns to the pool pad to get that out before hooking up the equipment and sending the suction side to waste.
Again, it doesn't hurt the pool. But if it's easy enough to get rid of, go for it.
Some of the RV antifreezes are glycerin based (it will say it on the label), you should avoid these. Bacteria can use glycerol for energy (food) and it can be converted by chlorine into many different chlorohydrin compounds which are not healthy to be exposed to. Further chlorination does not break them down but makes them more toxic. As with any antifreeze, do not get rid of it by simply dumping it into the pool when you open. You should have a procedure for capturing and disposal.
Both pool antifreeze and RV antifreeze serve the purpose of preventing freezing, they are formulated differently and intended for distinct applications. Using pool antifreeze in an RV's plumbing system or vice versa can lead to issues and may not provide adequate freeze protection

Winterize your recreational vehicles, boats, spas, hot tubs, pools, vacation homes, and campers with SPLASH non-ethylene antifreeze made with a plant-derived additive for -50°F burst protection.
SPLASH blue antifreeze is made to winterize water systems for your pool or hot tub and is safe for brass, steel, copper plumbing, and all plastics except acetate.
BOSS R.V Antifreeze is a specially-formulated RV antifreeze the contains propylene glycol and food grade phosphate.
All ingredients are classified as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA.
Additionally, this product's additive system has passed corrosion requirements as specified in ASTM D1384 and provides outstanding corrosion protection for copper, brass, solder, steel, cast iron and aluminum.
It is also compatable with most plastics, elastomer and types of rubber.
This RV antifreeze is primarily used to winterize all types of portable water systems including; boats, trailers, recreational vehicles, vacation homes and swimming pool/spa filtration and heating systems.
With an operating temperature range of -50ºF to 150ºF, when diluted with water will provide freeze protection to below -60ºF and burst protection, depending on dilution can be as low as -100ºF.
This RV antifreeze is not designed for long-term protection or for use on operating engines.
Marine/RV antifreeze should be the same as Pool antifreeze.
Engine coolant is different and it should not be used.
In any case, it is always best to verify the product is specifically designed for pool use by looking at the manufacturer's site or looking on the label to see the recommended uses.
