Has anyone used a Polk outdoor subwoofer (link below)? I have a 3 - Polk Atrium 8 speakers around the pool now. They sound pretty good, but lack low end response. I'm thinking about getting one of these to add to the setup.
What amp are you using and just curious as to where it's located? Our pool is kinda far from the house so I'm a little jealous of setups where speakers & amps are easier to wire.
Have you tried activating the Loudness setting on the speakers?

I upgraded the living room setup to a 5.1.2 Atmos setup when we put in the pool. At the time, I took the older Harman Kardon (5.1 Dolby digital) receiver for the pool speakers. My laundry room is on the outside wall, so I installed a shelf and wall plates in that room. I ran speaker wires (and HDMI for the outdoor TV audio) into the attic and put two of the Atrium 8 speakers on the outside house wall. The third Atrium speaker is hanging from a 30+ year old Oak tree that is closer to the pool/spa. I can swivel that speaker to direct sound as needed. Also, that speaker has the ability to take two channels of input. I put the receiver in All Channel Stereo mode. Two channels go to the house mounted speakers and two go to the tree mounted speaker. I use an IR blaster in the window for the receiver. Then I put an Echo Dot in the rafters of the pergola for music. It connects via Bluetooth to the receiver. The outdoor TV connects via HDMI.
For wiring to the tree speaker, I planned it before the deck was poured. I put down PVC electrical conduit from the house to the tree. They poured concrete over the conduit.
From what I've read on the subwoofer, it has a junction box with a crossover. I would initially connect it inline with the tree speaker. If I don't like the results, I would look into a dedicated amp that could come off the sub preamp out of the receiver.
I'll eventually put the sub in. Just need to finish the spring yard/pool work.
You should give the Loudness setting for the speakers a try if you haven't already. Really livened up my outdoor 6.5" speakers (1 pair of Definitive Tech and another pair of Yamahas). The tree mount won't benefit as much as ones mounted on the wall assuming that pair is up under the eaves.
