My wife had a friend over who brought her kids to swim.
They used the pool net to fish out their toys and extended the pole all the way and I can’t get it to go back down. Any ideas?

The tv says to call a doctor if it lasts more than 7 hours, so the clock is ticking.

It's a twist lock, correct ? Mine often sticks and I use channel lock pliers for more leverage on the two parts.

WD 40 is a last resort for me. It's a female dog to clean a water averse product with soap and water. I wouldn't want residual mineral sprits or such going in the pool either.

Also, 1 point awarded to the pro tuff pole that doesn't have this problem. :ROFLMAO:

The rest of it is Meh and not nearly as strong as my commercial aluminum pole. It's also several times the weight, and the rounded I-beam shape of the extended piece is uncomfortable to go hand over hand when reaching far.

But the lock mechanism is spectacular.

By all accounts the pro tuff should last so long I no longer care, but I'll be going back to the old one when it's time. My builder gave me the standard cheapo the first time which snapped in a year or so. I went down there and asked them for one their guys used and they asked if I wanted the heavy fiberglass one or the aluminum one. I went with the light one and it was rock solid until the twist lock got sketchy. I then dealt with it for 2 or 3 years because I'm cheap. Lol. I'll post a Pic later and maybe one of the pros recognizes it. I see one hanging out of most service trucks I pass all day and there's one on every corner these days. There's no branding on it only had a long gone sticker on it that was an American flag IIRC. The white handle and twist lock is all it has to identify it.

Thanks. I havent messed with it too much since my original post, but it unscrews just fine but the pole is "stuck" on something and will not go back in no matter how hard I push on it. Here is a picture of it completely untightened and I think the issue is with the white/clear plastic piece.

You need to pull it out and see what makes the locking mechanism work. There will be something obvious to the thinking mind. You may need to pull the pole out and then slide the white nylon onto the pole higher up and then reinsert the pole and afterwards re seat the white nylon part.
