I had my pool Maintenace company replace my Polaris cleaner pump just a couple of years ago after it took a dump. He installed a new PB4-SQ and it was great…..until it started making an annoying noise that I hate running it in consideration of the noise for my neighbor. I thought it was just the pump not being seated in the base correctly. Not the case. Removed the base and lifted it off the concrete slab and still makes the same noise. Took the fan and impeller covers off and inspected. Found a small mud dauber (wasp nest) in the fan cover and figured that was it. The fan and impeller spin freely and no noise and seems to be in good shape. Removed the nest, reinstalled the covers, hooked it back up and no change. Any ideas what it is? I’ve tried to attach a video demonstrating the noise (but can’t figure it out, only allows me to attach photos) I purchased a new PB-60 and will be installing it today but hoped I could get an easy fix for the PB4-SQ to keep as a backup.
