Can the new version (after 12/1/2011) of the Polaris PB4-60 be installed in the place of the old version? I have the old version (my pool was built in 2001), and need to replace it, but discovered that the bracket (part P10) is cracked. This item has been discontinued apparently, and I have not been able to find one anywhere. I don't know what to do. Help!

Allen,

Thank you so much! I appreciate your answer more than you can imagine! I haven't been able to find ANYTHING online anywhere about this. I would think that more people would be asking this question. Or maybe they are not doing any of their own maintenance and repairs. I will get the new style and get it done ASAP.
