Polaris 360 floats

My Polaris, other than routine maintenance, has been basically trouble free for years. Lately, it refuses to go to the bottom. It doesn't matter whether the pump is on or off. When pump is on, it sort of swims half way down all around the pool until it contacts a wall, then, manages to turn itself around or gets pulled away by the reverse valve, and continues to swim. If the pump is turned off, it just sits there, half way down.

I tried all the tricks I no, jet at different positions. The float ball is turned in as far as it will go.

Finally, I opened her up and put three rocks inside, two towards the back, and one in the front.

She is working now, although I know this arrangement is "not right."

Any suggestions welcome.

Do you have air bubbles coming out of your returns?

If you have an air leak causing air bubbles the air can get trapped in the Polaris and affect its buoyancy like a balloon.
