I don’t know much about plumbing or what’s going on here so please explain to me like I’m 5 why my spa drains when I turn on “spa mode” according to the instructions provided by the guy who fixed my pool leak this last week and added the concrete pad while consolidating space in this area.
Basic lay of the land:
A is the main pool motor that runs on a schedule.
B is the other motor and as far as I know, the only purpose is to operate the waterfalls which I turn on from the electrical panel.
1 and 2 are the only available valves.
I was instructed to turn both valves 180 degrees in the opposite direction to use the spa.
Indeed, the spa jets do fire up when I do this. But within 5 minutes we notice the spa draining. Water level consistently continues to fall.
Are we supposed to only turn one of the valves, and if so, which one? I’m worried about causing another leak. We used to only turn valve 2 which I was told caused the leak that was fixed. But, I’m not sure how true that is as contractor spoke limited English and didn’t communicate well.
I appreciate any insight. Thanks!
