Please HELP CYA 92 and water is cloudy. chlorine disappearing

my CYA test was approx. 93. I rounded up to 100

I was afraid of that.

With CYA the test is kind of subjective, with an accuracy of 10ppm, so anything above 90 is 100.

I am brand new to using the Taylor test kit but I ran the cya and chlorine. My buddy who has 6 years experience with the kit will be over tonight and we will run all the testing. I am hoping to not have to drain 50% of pool but if I have to I will. There are only about 3 weeks left in our northern pool season so would like to get this fixed quickly.

Tell us the steps you used to get the CYA results. You also have to do a full list of tests for every chemical listed in the kit.

Trying to pass off pool store numbers as from your own kit is doing nothing to help with that...

I followed instruction from the kit
Bottle 9191 to 7ml with pool water
Added r-013 to 14 ml
Shook for 30 sec
Added this solution to black dot tube until I could no longer see black dot
Then read number from the from of the tube at that level.

If your up there at 100 you need to do a diluted CYA test.

Please explain his to dilute CYA test if over 100
Add pool water to bottom of sticker.
Add tap water to top of sticker.
Shake.
Pour out half so mixture is to bottom of sticker.
Add reagent to top of sticker.
Shake.
Test outside with back to sun and tube at waist level.
Pour back and forth a few times to see if you get the same result.
Double the result.

While you are messing with CYA testing and draining, have you added chlorine since last Thursday? What is your latest FC reading?

I get that you dont want to add a bunch of chlorine to water you are going to replace soon, I also dont want you to have a major setback by letting your chlorine fall too low in the meantime.

I added 6 jugs of chlorine last Wednesday night and 1 jug per night since except last night 2 jugs. Free chlorine this morning was approx 7.8
