plaster pool brush type

New to plaster pool care. Nylon vs stainless bristle steel pool brush....which should I use? Is one better than the other for a specific purpose?

Nylon for general brushing, stainless for dealing with tougher stuff (especially algae).

Nylon is the brush of choice. Stainless should only be used when fighting an algae bloom. It helps break up the algae and expose it to the high chlorine levels used to fight the algae, but it is too hard on the plaster for everyday use
