placement of pump, heater etc - need input

Hi - we are getting a new pool installed early July and not sure about placement of the equipment. Attached is the general layout we are thinking of with the 2 locations we are thinking.

Option 1. - along privacy fence - about 33 feet from house
Option 2 - near garage near our AC unit

The main bedroom is right above the screened in porch - which is right near the pool. So we want it far enough away from the house so we wont be bothered by noise when the heater is on at night but also aware that if we place it too far from the house it could cost extra in the gas lines. thoughts?

Option 1 - the cost of the gas line is minor in the overall pool cost. Keeps the equipment away from the house and more accessible if you need to get to equipment while using pool. Leave gate access in the fence near the equipment to get stuff in and out. Put a light over the equipment to check equipment in the dark.

thanks. how much space is needed for the equipment? Is it 4'x6'? and does it go on gravel or cement?

also, what kind of equipment would we need to get in an out near the pump? we were going to have the fence gate close to the house and screened in porch?

4x6 pad should be fine. Cement pad is best. Dont bury any pipes under the pad. Bring everything up alongside the edge of the pad.

I like my equipment out of line of sight from pool. Are you planning on automation? If so, the location by the garage might be best - close to gas and electric. And you could use your phone or a remote to turn on/off features while at the pool or elsewhere. Actually backing up to the garage wall might be better as it wouldn't be near the outside edge of the deck in your plan - if that's the AC unit just below your potential location in the pic, then to the right of that if there is room. Placing it there takes it more out of view and you could easily enclose it if you want, using the exterior garage wall as the back side.

Some things to keep in mind.

The further your run is, the more work the equipment needs to do, this may only be applicable if u have a spa or jets.

This is obvious, but nothing goes under the pool so look at your runs framed around the pool regarding length.

I would go option 1, and have them run a wifi extender to the pad for automation or just for better wifi/smart devices. We bought a 50" fire tv for like ~$300 and stream it by the pool off the extender and it works great and the automation is awesome. We have hayword equipment/app.

Re: pad. 4x6 sounds small. Id always leave extra room if u can?
