I need to order the PJAN145 cartridges for my Jandy filter and one site that is offering it says “old version”. They also have a “new version” for a lot more money. Does anyone know what the “old version” means or when the old version was changed to the new version?

I'm not sure either. 
I hopped on the Pleatco website and saw the various versions, some of which looked like they were discontinued, but as to why it didn't say.

Usually the "version" difference is a change to the core of the cartridge of perhaps "anti-microbial" end caps, etc. Just get a good brand, Pleatco, Unicel, Filbur. Optimum Pool Technologies provides them as well. So far all the items I have used from them have been good quality, just never tried their cartridges.
