Phosphates

Yes.
You showed the OTO TC test with the pH. Thought that is what you did.

What do you need?
Oh ok/ the FAS-DPD test results are above thatthe FC is 3.5, the TA is 70, Salt is 3000, and CYA is 60.
Below I just posted a pic of the pool math that said the target FC is 4. Is that right?

We have pinch a Penney and Leslie’s here. Does Walmart or Lowes sell that? Sorry- we’ve just never bought it before.
You mean liquid chlorine? Most Walmarts, Home Depots, and Lowes do stock liquid chlorine. Look on their websites for "liquid chlorine" or "chlorinating liquid" Be a bit careful though - WM, HD, and Lowes often store it outside. Liquid chlorine has a finite shelf life, and its degradation is accelerated at elevated temperatures (see this link here). So check the date code (same link). I'd say if it's more than a month old and kept outside, you should avoid it.

Pinch-a-Penny has good product and is reasonably priced, so if the big-box stores don't work out then this is a good option.

Yes. I would keep it there or a little above. Gives you some wiggle room
Just getting back on here; I have 3 questions-
1-Pool Math advises 2cups 5oz of liquid chlorine to reach the FC target of 4.. .so 3c wouldn't hurt and and may even raise it a little more than the 4, right? It also reads "Bleach Chlorine %" and the number 6 is in that space. Is liquid chlorine standard at 6% and that's why it's there?
2: It also advises to add 2cups 8oz dry stabilizer to bring CYA from 60 to 75-
3- We need to clean the filter, it's been about a month since we let our pool guy go in an effort to work all this out. Can we add the chlorine today, clean the filter in the a.m. and then add the stabilizer? I thought I read not to clean the filter for 72hrs after adding stabilizer but I don't remember if it was in Pool School, or elsewhere.

1) You have to put in the strength of the liquid chlorine you get. It varies from 6% (standard household bleach) to 12.5%. Overshooting a little for the target is fine.

2) If you want. I’d start with 10ppm to get to 70 and leave it there for a bit with a SWCG.

3) Add CYA via sock method. Then no need to concern yourself with not cleaning filter for a set amount of time.

Got it, that's great on the filter!

Apparently the pool store uses 10.5% so I added more than Pool Math recommended at this point 🤦‍♀️ I'll get this figured out after a few more times, I'm sure.

Please see attached photo from Pool Math app for some more guidance- We had to change our pool volume in gallons from 19,800 to 13,000. We recently purchased the house; two local pool stores had 11,000ga & 19,800ga attached to the previous owners. I don't know how they had such different numbers. Today we re-measured the pool & spa and it came to 12,988ga (13000)
I put liquid chlorine in the pool on the 13th, after the suggestion but based on 19,800gallons and 6% chlorine. The chlorine was actually 10.5% So....FC went to 14. Turned the SWCG off, again, re-tested today and have attached the photo from pool math app. Based on the suggestion from the other day, I'm still trying to wait for the FC to go down to around 5(?) before turning the swg back on but the salt has gone down to 2800 now so I'm not quite sure where to go with it....I'll get there guys, just trying to figure it out, Thank you

Don't forget to factor in the peak season. If your SWG holds rock solid wherever you set it, then dance the minimum line as close as you wish. 2 away doesn't leave much room for error in July/Aug in FL. In October its plenty.

With the cell off, that was your test ? Was there a reason for testing it ?

I'll get there guys, just trying to figure it out
You will. I promise. And you're doing GREAT. Any goofs now are silly ones that won't swamp you. You got them big fat TFP training wheels on. We got you.

FC is technically safe where it is now but obviously on the high end. Yes I'd test and when you get to 5 or so turn it back on. PH is high so you'll need to add MA to bring back down to the 7.6-7.8 range. As for the salt if your SWG is happy with your salt level you're fine. If it gets too low you'll see an indicator telling you as much. Once you add salt you're not going to lose it except for draining, filling and splash out.

Thank you! As for the salt, I just tested it today because we've had it off since the 9th trying to get the FC situated. The FC was 11 on the 9th, we turned the swg off to try and drop the fc a bit, but on the 13th the FC was 3.5 which surprised me it dropped so far so fast. So we added way to much liquid chlorine (based on having wrong information about the pool and the % of chlorine) trying to get it a little above target of 4 (so maybe 6?) and yesterday the FC was 14. I was ready to throw in the towel lol
Today it's 9.5 so I tested the CYA, and figured I'd test the salt just because it's been off since the 9th. *shrug shoulders* Is the FC at 9.5 ok?

I get a lot of rain so I like to maintain my chlorine a bit on the high side. Just go for a range. With a CYA of 70, anything between 5-9 is fine. It’s a lot better to be on the higher end then the lower end, especially when it’s hot out. Don’t stress if your at 9, time to dump in some chlorine if your at 3. You typically don’t have to think in terms of exact numbers, just ranges of numbers.

Just remember your pool can consume 2-4ppm of chlorine per day. I’d turn your SWCG back on at a low percentage and then test and adjust slightly every day.

thank you everyone!!
On a side note, how do you get notifications from the site? I seem to have all my notifications check marked in settings but I don’t get any emails or text msgs that I have responses to a thread/post, so I just keep checking in every once on a while.

Let's see if @Leebo can help you with this one.

Hey, look at that! I turned swcg to 10% a few days ago, tested FAS-DPD today , and FINALLY the FC is starting to come down- 7.5 rather than 9, 10, 11, 14 🤦🏻‍♀️

Looks real good. Now bring the PH down to your target and your water is in balance
Should I add some stabilizer too? For some reason we can't seem to get or keep it above 60 for several weeks now ....Pool Math says to add some to try to hit the range of 70-75
