Phosphates Will Kill Your Chlorine????

Pool store told me FC of 5ppm is “hard on equipment” and shouldn’t keep it that high. Not sure where they even get their information. I do like the theory that they are planting seeds of doubt that you can literally blame any issue on.

It is, if you have 0 CYA. The industry for the most part doesn't take the FC/CYA relationship into account at all with the numbers they provide.
