PH Testing—Strips or Liquid Drops

Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on the best way to test for PH. I consistently find that when I test the pH in our pool with test strips, it will be perfectly in the normal range. But, if I also test at the same time with liquid drops, it’s usually high. Anyone else experience this or have any thoughts on which method is more accurate? Have always presumed the drops or more accurate, but not sure.

Yes, the drops are the only reading you waste one second on. The strips start going bad the moment the cap is opened, and the bottle lasts a year.

Many also change color as you study it. Did you time it just right ?

The forum is utterly littered with stories of test strips being junk. There are thousands and thousands of threads reporting, from real world people.

Don't go to the pool store for their PH opinion either. The bottle gets shaken over every imperfection in the road in the way there. Lol.
