I recently switched from using liquid chlorine in my tub to tablets. Yesterday I used non chlorine shock and since my ph was high, > 8.2 some muriatic acid.

Today when I test, my Chlorine is 2 but my ph turned yellow!!???
Is this something to do with the shock or too much acid?

Thanks

It sounds as if you may have added a bit too much muriatic acid. :hammer: You'll want to increase that right away (see below link). I would also check your TA level since the acid may have effected it as well. You want the TA to at least 50 and the pH back to the mid 7s. Then you can fine-tune things as you go.

Tablets contain acid which lowers your pH. When you started using tabs you needed to lower your acid dosing or just let the tablets lower the pH.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the yesterday was 40, now when I added the green reagent, the sample turned red, so that's definitely off as well.

I guess I need to add baking soda, maybe 2 oz at a time?
