pH 7.4 <- added muriatic acid yesterday afternoon

My pH seems to want to drift up to 7.6, at least over the last 8 days testing every other day it holds at 7.6. Pool school mentions SWGs as increasing pH. Is there a pH the pool will 'like' to be at or should I expect it to continue to rise past that? I have added muriatic twice to knock it back to 7.4, do I need to worry about this or just wait till it gets above. 7.6?
