So our new PrimeraStone plaster pool was doing fine in the first couple of months (I had to but then they had to repolish some sections 1 month ago and ever since I have crazy PH rise as well as scaling issues on the re-polished plaster only (the rest of the pool is super smooth). Before this, I would only have to add acid about once per week to go from 8.0 back to 7.6.
Here the latest chemistry:
PH 8.2
TA 70
Calcium 330
CYA 40
Temp 71
FC 5
CC 0.5
Salt 3100
Whenever the PH gets to 8.2 I add about 2.5 cups of acid and the PH drops down to around 7.5, the next day it is back at 7.8, the following day at 8.0 and within 3-4 days I'm back at 8.2. This has been going on for a month. The last week, I even had my SWG completely off for 5 days because I had the SWG previously on too high a setting with the cooler / cloudier weather.
The Wetedge representative recommended to increase the TA to 120, he said that should reduce the PH bounce, but that is contrary to what I read chemgeek recommend in a post here.
Any other ideas on what I should do to prevent this crazy PH rise?
