Hello,

This is no major problem, I am just putting it out there because Im more curious than anything else; maybe someone else has had this happen.

I run the SWG during the day and off all night; I do the Ph and Cl test in the morning before the SWG/Filter starts in the morning. I have 2 different comparators, the TF-100, and the Taylor 9056 that I currently use everyday (I am trying to decide which one that I like better as I have trouble with the colors; I also purchased C-600 Ph meter from Nate and have been using that for a about a week now.

This morning I tested 7.9 PH across all three testers, the SWG had been off about 10-11 hrs.
This early evening I tested 7.7 PH across all three testers, the SWG had been running all day.

Seems kinda strange to me is all. SWG supposedly pushes up Ph I thought, pool temp 2-3 degrees warmer this afternoon, air temp about 8-10 degrees warmer than yesterday. Maybe it swings back and forth like that all the time and I just haven't noticed it but I doubt it. I been a testing fool since I am trying to learn this pool and I think I would have noticed Ph going opposite way from what it normally does 99 % of the time.

If anyone has any thoughts / comments I'm interested.

Thx

That is strange. The SWG would have little effect on pH. I know it's tough for me to nail down a precise number with the pH test, but you're using three different sources to test. Maybe a variance in the lighting between morning and afternoon and that's throwing off the colors on the comparator?

And it's tough for me as well sometimes especially on the higher end, that is why I purchased the digital meter. I figured I would use the meter , then run the color test, and over the next few months I would know what a particular color Ph for sure on the comparator. Kinda using the meter to strengthen my confidence with the color comparator. Plan is when Im done , I won't need/use the digital meter any longer. Both comparators, and the digital meter all agreed this morning and this afternoon as well. PH definitely dropped today. Kinda weird

You should not be testing when the pump isnt running or hasnt run all night. Try waiting until its been running for minimum of 30 minutes.
