I tested my ph this morning and it was around 7.0. I was surprised because it’s usually right around 7.4. So I rinsed out then tube and tested it again, just to make sure I didn’t do anything wrong. When I tested again it came out to around 7.8. Why would I be getting 2 different readings?

Not sure why it happened to yo but I have had bad readings. You did the right ting by rinsing and retesting. In fact I retest a third time to confirm.

If the sample tube is not rinsed properly between tests your results will not be accurate.
I definitely rinse thoroughly every time. I just tested again and got 7.8 again so I guess that's the reading. Just curious as to why it would read low the first time.
