Hi all,
I am working on getting a freshly plastered and freshly filled (yesterday) 30,000 gallon in ground pool balanced.
My main concern is that the pH is coming back as a hot pink color. I would think the pH is too high, but want to confirm.

Other measurements:
  • CYA: about 20 now and working today to raise that.
  • FC: about 3 (keeping it a bit low by instructions from plaster company)
  • pH: Not sure
  • TA: 130
  • CH: 200 and looking to raise that some more per plaster company
Thank you! I've been using the TFP method for about 8 years now and try to convert all pool owners if they will listen to me :)

Assume the pH is 8 when it tests off the scale. Add MA to lower pH to 7.4. Use PoolMath

1 gallon of 31% MA will lower your pH by 0.9.

Add about 2/3 of the gallon, wait 30 minutes, and test pH again. If still high then repeat until pH tests in the 7s.
