Ph - adjustments?

Hello,

Here’s my latest liquid chlorinated pool chemistry-

FC - 6
CH - 225
TA - 80 (previously 100)
ph 7.4 (previously 7.8)
CYA 30
Last night I added 40 oz MA.

My pool typically hovers around ph 7.8, sometimes a little higher whether my TA is 50 or 100 (or in between).
I can reduce ph by adding MA but only temporary because it tends to rise back to 7.8 (sometimes a little higher, even 8.0).

Other than chlorine being a little less effective should I stress about a ph consistent at 7.8 - 8.0?

I understand some pools just like to run a little higher ph?

Thank you,

Stephanie

That is only true of water with no CYA. With CYA the difference is negligible. Only drop pH when it gets to 8.0. Your TA may go down even more and that will slow the process of the rising pH. Only bump TA back up when it gets below 50.
