Pool has been open for about 3 weeks now (1st full season-only had about 2 weeks last year from when pool was finished to when we had to close it up for winter). Went to clean the pump basket today and found this screw underneath the pump basket. Thoughts on where it could have come from?

Maybe from one of the winterizing plugs?

That could be the screw to the pump impeller. It is left hand thread like most are! What is your pump make/model?

It is an intelliflo vsf. Pentair part number 011056

Yep, that’s what it is! OBVIOUSLY DO NOT RUN THE PUMP UNTIL IT IS FIXED!!!

Nope, super simple. Maybe a bit of BLUE loctite (not red).

How old is the pump? Might be worth replacing the shaft seal (and the other seals) when you are in there. Ask me why I suggest it...

The pump is basically brand new. Pool install was finished in Sept 2021 so I hope nothing else would need replaced yet!
