Morning all,

Quick background. 18 x 36 in ground pool that started leaking 1-2 inches daily. Let the pool drain to lowest point, which was the light and discovered:
1. Leaking in between the niche and the liner
2. 7 of the 10 screws wouldn't tighten
3. The top of the niche sticks out 1/4 from the wall, the bottom sticks out 1/2"

Bought & installed 2 new gaskets between niche/liner & liner/outer ring
Rotated the outer ring 1/4 turn, drilled new holes, plugged the old holes with the pool epoxy
Put the epoxy in between the niche and pool wall to cover up the gaps.
Tightened everything down and there were no leaks

However, when I reinstalled my light using the wedges bought off Amazon, it began to leak again.

What can I do at this point? I really do not want to rip up the concrete to get to the niche and i'm ok with not having a light in the pool. Do they make covers for this?

Thanks,
Tom

I had the same problem a few years ago. My pool had a vinyl liner. The liner was old as in 18 years so when replacing the liner we just sealed the opening for the light and covered it over with the new liner. I purchased a solar pool light from Ldecsun and it works perfectly, extremely pleased with the result and no energy costs. Highly recommend this product.

There are light doctor products that you can use depending upon which niche you have - kind of expensive for what they are but pool tax I guess.
