Hi

I noticed a lot of wet area near my pump. Upon further inspection it looks like the leak is coming from the drain plug area according to the manual.

The pump is less than a year old and to be honest when the pool was shut down I don't know if my pool guy remove the drain plugs for the winter.

I am assuming that he did and it's probably been leaking for a while.

So my question is what exactly should I do about it?

The parts manual says there is an O-ring replacement 192115.

Do I empty the pump as much as I can to relieve the pressure from the system and try to tighten the drain plug?

Should I order a replacement o-ring and then drain the system and tighten the drain plug?

Or should I just use some Teflon tape and tighten that sucker up?

Thank you for your help

Rich

I have had the same issue on a new pump.

Shut the pump off. At the breaker. Open the air bleed on your filter to relieve any pressure. Try to tighten the drain plug but if that does not work you can get an o-ring at Home Depot/Lowes. Best way is to take the drain plug and existing o-ring with you and get a replacement.

Take care.
