I installed a new SuperFlo VS today. It was fairly simple, the most difficult part was the plumbing. I went to turn it on and didn't add water. Our old pump didn't need us to. It ran for about 10 seconds before it started smoking in the basket area. I immediately turned it off. When I opened it, there was a black dust. I reread the instructions and added water. Now it won't even turn the motor on. It just says prime then sort of clicks and flashes error 0019. What does that all mean. The wiring is right. The plumbing is right. Why isn't it working?

So I got it to work. I still don't know what the error means, so when I hear back from pentair I'll post it here so future people can find it.
19 – Motor Start Failure: Could indicate a locked rotor.
Verify the fan at the rear of the motor is free of debris.
Attempt to break up impeller blockages by rotating the motor shaft through the fan cover using a hex-key.
If this does not work the pump may need to be disassembled.
Seems like the impeller was rubbing against something.
You should probably open it up and check it out.
