Hi all, I have a Pentair Mastertemp 400 and a Suntouch panel. My heater does not turn on, meaning there is no power or light when I press the on button. I catch the display coming on a split second when I turn it on from the Suntouch panel, and it disappears. I cannot read the code or number since it's very fast. I checked the fuse inside the heater's small glass tube, and it's good. I want to call local repair companies, but I am getting $200-300 just to come out and troubleshoot.

Is there anything I should look for obvious things to look for?

The first thing is to disconnect the MasterTemp from the SunTouch Control.

Find the 2-wire control cable in the electrical box and disconnect it from the terminals. Depending on how the wire was connected, you may be able to twist the two yellow wires together to jumper the connection.

Or post a picture of what you find.

If the heater runs from its local control panel, the problem is with the SunTouch. Otherwise, we can discuss what the heater does under local control.

Ok, let me try this. The control panel is working now $15 Amazon. I thought I would give it a try. Lights are back on now and buttons are working. I'm not comfortable messing with the wires bit. I will try the wire and see if I can get it started. And report back here.
