Pentair mastertemp 400 - heater coming on again by itself

400k heater was new in 2015 - had this issue in 2017 - replaced a part under warranty - now same issue is occurring 3 years later
not sure if i have a lemon or not.....i am hearing just replace the keypad myself vs paying somebody $200 to fix it.....any opinions out there?

Is your heater controlled by automation though the firemans switch or manually controlled by the heater keypad?

If manually controlled then replace the keypad with Pentair part number 472610Z.

thanks for the info, i should have but i wanted a warranty guy to come out and take a look, i may have been shortcuiting from mouse damage (some dark spots on wires) but when he got here everything worked fine.

bottom line - he replaced the keypad, cost me a bit more than doing it myself but if it occurs again i will just handle it.
