Pentair Intellichor IC40 issues

I opened the pool this year and everything was fine for first week or 2. Then I noticed it had the cold water system off light on. I waited thinking maybe it did need to warm up but it never did change with the weather getting warmer. After I did some research I found the flow switch has a built in Thermistor to measure the temp and found it was wide open but flow switch worked fine. I read that the thermistor looks for 10k ohms to tell if the temp is above 52 degrees so I wired in 10k in resistors to bypass it to get it up and running until getting new flow switch but now the cell light is flashing. Anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions other than replacing the whole salt cell? Thanks

Steve,

How old is the cell? Nothing you did should make the cell light flash. I assume your cell is clean.

You should have wired by this diagram..

Edit... I assume you put the sensor into a pipe with water and not just hanging out in the air...

Thanks,

Jim R.
It’s 5 years old. I’m in Illinois so it doesn’t run year round. I didn’t add another temp sensor, I just cut it off at connected 10k resistors to the green white from the salt cell.
I also read someone said if you just cut the green and white it will default to a value and I tried that too but the cell light is still flashing.

Steve,

The cell light normally flashes when the cell is dirty. I have yet to see a case where the cell was clean, and the cell light continues to flash, where the cell was not bad.

That said, I find it odd that the cell originally had a low temp light, and cutting the white and green wires, suddenly made the cell light start to flash. I have no idea why that would happen or how to fix it.

My gut says the cell is bad...

Sorry,

Jim R.
