Came home today with no lights on my IC40 and a lost communication alert on the IntellaCenter app and screen. Saw the low voltage 12amp breaker on the IntellaCenter board was tripped so I reset it. Lights flickered on the IC40 for a second and I smelt some electrical smell. Never came back on and the breaker never tripped again. IC40 is 3 years old and the IntellaCenter is 5 months old. Is the IC40 likely bad? IMG_1243.jpeg

Off,

Disconnect the cell and see if the breaker no longer pops.

If the breaker pops with the cell disconnected, the Surge card is most likely bad.

If the breaker only pops when the cell is connected, then the cell is most likely bad.

Thanks,

Jim R.

When I reset the breaker the lights on the IC40 flickered some and I smelt an electrical burning before turning off again and the breaker never tripped again and IC40 never came back on.

Off,

If this were my pool, I'd drop the display down and look at the Surge card (Power Supply) mounted to the backwall of the IntelliCenter, and see if you can see any obvious damage..

With the cell disconnected, you can use a voltmeter and test the AC input to the Surge card.. It should be about 28 Volts AC.... Then test the DC output of the Surge card, it should be about 35 volts..

My gut says your cell is bad...

Have you looked inside the cell to make sure it is clean??

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yep it’s a bad cell. Card has power. I am just under the 3 year mark so hoping warranty comes though.
