Pentair i5P

There is no spa. The pool will have 2 skimmers, 6 returns, 2 main drains, pool filler, pressure cleaner, 6 lights, 2 bubblers, SWCG and sand filter (maybe cartridge).

I want the ability to control as much as possible. Never had a pool before, so not exactly sure what automation will allow me to control.

For the lights, will all be controlled as one (same color, etc, at the same time) or in groups or individually?

You can connect most anything to automation. Certain things need Relays.
You have 5 relays with the i5P, one is dedicated to the Pump / Filter system (and your SWCG will be tied to that same relay).
Your lights, if all controlled together, will use one transformer tied to one relay. Your Pressure Cleaner will need a relay I believe. That will leave you two relays open for additional items (landscape lighting, pad lighting, etc).

The valve actuator for your bubblers will connect directly to the automation without the need of a relay.

When you say pump/filter system does that include pool temperature?
A temperature probe will be installed so your automation has the water temperature.

Does the system allow for programming a schedule for heat (e.g. hotter on weekends cooler on weekdays)?
You will have to tell the heater to operate when you want it to. It can be set up to ramp up the rpm of the pump (the pump must all ready be running) if heat is called for. I do not believe you can schedule the heater like that - but I am not intimately familiar with the Intellicenter.
