Hi - New Pool Owner, and I am learning a lot from this forum. I live in northwest Georgia. It got a little cold last night but I don't think freezing. Anyway, my pump was on when I got up. It has a little temperature thing hanging from the Pentair Panel, which they said was a temperature thing. My question is - Is there a way to change it to kick on when the air temperature is 33 or so versus 36 or 40 (that's what I'm guessing it kicked on at). Also, I have a VS pump. Does it automatically just kick on to whatever speed is needed, or is there a way that I can control the speeds? If so, could you tell me how.

Thanks so much!

Yes most automation systems allow for these changes. there should be a setting for selecting the freeze protection temperature and also under the VS pump speed settings there is a selection for pump speed for freeze protection. I am bumping to @Jimrahbe to help you on the specific screens as I do not have ET automation.

LaDonna,

You can't directly adjust the temperature that kicks on Freeze Control. What you can do is 'calibrate' the air temp probe so that it thinks the air is warmer than it is. You can also assign a speed for the pump to run when freeze control turns on.

That said, I do not use freeze control at all as my pump runs 24/7, mostly at 1200 RPM. Doing this has a lot of advantages for me as I have a SWCG and like making a little chlorine all the time and skimming all the time. I also like the idea that the pump does not have to start and stop every day. It makes programming easier, and I never have to worry about freeze control. Doing these costs me less than $20 bucks a month and I have an old IntelliFlo pump, the new ones are even cheaper to run.

This setup page is for the temp probe calibration.

This is the setup page where you can add a speed for freeze.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thank you! A couple of questions, how do I change my speed? And, where is this "page" to change? I only have the computer panel. I've played around with it and I haven't found anything that looks even remotely like this. Maybe, I'm missing something.

LaDonna,

The pages I show are from my PC.. You have to go into the configuration setup pages. Look in the lower left for configure ScreenLogic button. Edit.. that would be my other 'left".. Try looking at the lower right of the pic. :brickwall:

The configurator is the best part about ScreenLogic. Much easier to use than the little LCD display on the main panel.

Note... Do not change 'Pump type'.. If you select a new pump type it will delete all of your current speeds. You can easily reenter them but a pain in the rear if you forget what is what.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I will look tomorrow on my screen logic panel outside. I don't have anything on my PC to be able to calibrate, etc. The only thing I have is my panel outside. How do I sync my PC with the panel?
Thanks, LaDonna
