Pentair easytouch control panel LCD display is on but blank

my display is on emitting light but blank with nothing on it;
Any thoughts? I read on your post about ordering a replacement LCD display and having to solder it to the board, but prior to trying that, just would like to make sure I am not overlooking something obvious that could fix the problem; board is two years old, so hate to replace an entire board;

I opened my pool this year to a malfunctioning LCD screen (and 2 broken CVA-24 actuators. but I'll save that for a different thread) I called Pentair and was told that I needed to replace the entire mother board on the panel. I'm asking you guys for better advise!!! HA! I've attached a picture...

I would only add that I would make sure your board is operating correctly before pulling the display... yours is very likely a bad display, but I have seen one board that was stuck in a reset loop (so it would not start up), and the lcd backlight was on. To rule this out, see if the aux buttons on your outdoor panel perform their functions... if they do, then it's almost surely just a bad display.
