Hi there,

Thanks in advance for your help. I don't know what I would do without this community!

I have done all the electrical myself, so I may have made a mistake and hope someone can help me. I have all Pentair equipment. Pentair easytouch 8 (with integrated salt cell transformer) and intelliflo VS pump.

If I run the filter pump independently (i.e., turning it on at the pump while the easytouch control panel is off) it works fine, but when I try to turn the filter pump on with the easytouch 8 control panel the filter pump breaker keeps tripping. I have linked a video below so you can see how I have things hooked up. Since I am not an expert, it may be hooked up incorrect, and so if anyone sees a mistake please let me know.

I am also not getting any power to the salt cell. From my video does this look wired correctly? Thanks for your help. I really do appreciate it.

ej,

I need to see pics of the inside of your EasyTouch..

I need to be able to zoom and and study stuff.. The videos don't help me at all...

My 'guess' is that you have the pump wired for 240 volts and your SWCG wired for 120 volts and you are using the same GFCI breaker for both..

Not doing this correctly, will pop the breaker in a heart beat..

Show us some good pics.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I attached some photos. I know they’re not the best ones. Thanks for your help Jim

Hi Jim. This solved it! I had the SWG hooked up for 120v. When I switched to 240v it worked. Thanks for your help Sir

ej,

Just to make sure...

The SWCG transformer MUST be wired to the load side of the Pump/Filter relay.. This is the primary safety device to prevent the SWCG transformer from getting any AC power unless you are in the Pool mode or the Spa mode.. (Normally when in the pool or spa mode, the main pool pump is running..)

If you can put the system into the Service mode, and your cell still has lights, something is not wired correctly. (It might take a few seconds for the lights to go off)..

Thanks,

Jim R.

You can see from the photo that nothing is getting power from the 2 poles of the load side of the pump relay. The SWCG should be powered from that.
