Good day all I'm an owner builder my first pool so everything is going along very well for only 2 months into it. But I have a question about controlling my lights/fountain led lights and my magic bowl lights.everyone I talk to including pentair tech support says i need to control the transformer thru the easytouch 8 relay and NOT the lights themselves..so to do so I would need 3 different transformers because i want to control my 2 small led lights with 1 relay my 3 sheer descents (water falls leds) with 1 relay and my pentair magic bowl leds with 1 relay. however if i controlled the lights thru the relay i could use (1) 300 watt transformer and daisy chain the relays EVERYONE SAYS I MUST CONTROL A TRANSFORMER! can someone shed light on this and why? Pentair tech support does NOT know why but they say only control the transformer thru the relay..any help or reason why would be appreciated..and thanks for letting me post on here.Kevin

K,

Because it is against code to have low voltage wiring in the high voltage section of your ET.

I'm sure it would be OK if you hung up a sign saying "Swimmers may be electrocuted at any time"..

You can do it right, or you can cheat, completely up to you..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim,theres already 2 transformers in the easy touch 8!!!! could you quote the NEC chapter and page you quoted as being against CODE? per the NEC 600v or less is considered low voltage.

Also what I'm asking is whay cant the transformer line be connected outside the easytouch 8 and the load 12,13,14 v be ran to the line side of the easytouch 8 relay and then daisy chained to the other line side of the relay so only 1 transformer used The load side of the relay would have the 12 led light on it....pentair is saying run the 120v thru the relay NOT THE 12V .
