Pentair color cascade lights defect

Seems these lights have a known manufacturer defect after reading some reviews on Amazon. Mine have been replaced twice now. They fill with water over time and it ruins the LED’s. Does anyone know if there is a retro fit to put a different style or brand light in that niche? Reviews say the niche will only work for that light style so we are all screwed. Wondering if anyone has created their own solution?

Hi Kfox77,

I have these lights on my pool as well and have not run into this issue, the issue I ran into was no matter what I tried I could not get the two bubblers to synchronize. I would give Pentair a call at 1-800-831-7133 and I bet if you press them hard enough they would send you out replacement bubblers especially if it is a know problem. I would let Pentair know that there are a bunch of reviews on Amazon with people complaining about this issue and let them know you can send them the link. I would also ask them if there are any preventative measures you can take during installation to prevent this from occuring (i.e. epoxy, sealant, caulk, etc..) Let us know what happens.

Pentair is replacing them for free. I inquired at a pool supplier locally here. They called Pentair right there for me. Apparently these lights are defective and Pentair has since been using a new manufacturer as of a couple years ago. Many of these defective lights were pulled from the builders as a recall. But some either didn’t get the memo or didn’t do it. Either way Pentair was quick to resolve it for me. I also contacted my builder as all my Pentair products are under a three year warranty so this was my second avenue if Pentair didn’t cooperate.
