Pentair Actuator cable

The cable from one of my actuators to the Pentair panel has been severed. Animal or vandalism. In any event, my pool repair guy says I can't replace the cable and that we have to replace the entire actuator. I found cables for sale so I'm wondering if he is misinformed.

I don't have a lot of experience with this guy. He's a referral from a neighbor. He did a good job at a good price when I needed some work done on my heater.

TIA.

Otis,

There is nothing special about this cable.. You could even just splice (repair) the cable that is there now if you wanted...

It appears to me that the cable can easily be replaced and the parts diagram even call out a "replacement" cable.

I think your "pool guy" is just wrong..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks guys. I spliced the wires and got things up and running. That was a great suggestion. We've had freezing temperatures in North Texas so it was good to have the freeze mode operating properly. I have ordered the wire. Not sure yet if I'm going to try it myself or have someone do it for me. Looking for a youtube video
