Hi all, we put in a new Pentair system (used existing old Hayward propane heater) about 2 years ago. Unfortunately, we flooded pretty bad with Helene and need to replace equipment.

The SWG doesn't turn on anymore. The 3hp pump runs but is very loud now. We did also lose an Intellivalve and I have not even turned on the gas heater since the flood. Someone mentioned it was possibly dangerous and it was old anyway so I've just left that breaker off.

Was looking at the Pentair 3 year warranty and it appears you have to purchase a pump, filter and something else. Since we don't need a new filter, I guess we won't get the 3 year warranty on this purchase?

Is there anything I can do with the existing pump or should we just purchase new and keep this old pump as a backup?

Aaron,

To get the 3 year warranty, the equipment must also be installed by a "professional" pool guy..

Were you planning on a DIY install? A DIY install gives you a 60 day warranty..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Aaron,

I'm a little confused.. Your signature says you have an IntelliCenter with a IC40 SWCG, but the cell will not turn on.. Did the IntelliCenter get flooded? Did the cell itself get flooded? Do you get any lights on the cell at all?

Is the Cell's Power Center inside the IntelliCenter, or do you have an external Power Center for the Cell?

I would suggest that you get the 3 HP IntelliFlo3 VSF pump.. It will connect right up to your IntelliCenter.

Thanks,

Jim R.

The intellicenter cabinet, thank goodness, was up high enough and did not go under water. The actual salt cell, about 12" off the ground, was probably underwater for quite a while. Everyone once in a while ill catch the lights on the cell flashing but 99% of the time they are off. There's just a single cable from the cell to the intellicenter.

We already have the 3hp variable speed pump, I was planning to just do a like for like replacement, just to quiet it down.

For whatever it's worth, the little light in the pump breaker is flashing, which indicates it needs to be replaced. Not sure that matters in any of this.

In either case, it looks like I'm just getting a year warranty.

Aaron,

This means that the IntelliCenter powers the cell... This is a good thing...

The problem is that if the cell was under water, it may have damaged the cell power supply card in the IntelliCenter...

When powered up, does the IntelliCenter pop the SWCG Circuit Breaker in the upper right of the cabinet??

Thanks,

Jim R.

I assume you mean the little breakers up by the display? I haven't really paid much attention to them and have never touched or messed with them. I don't believe they are popped as every once in a while I'll see the lights on the SWG flashing for a few secs and then they'll go off again. pics of intellicenter and pump for reference.
