Hi, I am a new Pool owner. I moved in last year prior owner have messed up the Pool completely. My husband and I decided to resurface the pool this year and we decided pebble stone was the best option for us. They finished the installation yesterday and they stated will come today to acid wash the pool but they haven’t (Crud happens all the time you know) the PB said not a big deal (can be done within 3 days after installation) they will do it tomorrow but I am reading all over that needs to be done by the next day and I am freaking out. Help please!!!!

Hello, and welcome. Pebbletec's website says that the acid wash takes place "after a hardening period," but doesn't say how long that is. It also includes this note at the bottom:

"PLEASE NOTE: The application process and sequence may vary slightly based on the type of finish you select, where you are located, certain weather conditions and the Authorized Applicator installing the finish."

I understand the concern, but it doesn't sound to me like you need to worry. Please let us know how it turns out. Also, it's normal from what I've seen for pools with a pebble finish to have a slight beauty mark here or there. Mine has two small circular 3-4" stains in the deep end, but otherwise is perfect.

Thank you so much Kevin much appreciated, they just finished the acid wash and now the pool is being filled with the water hose. all was good until I noticed a stain or beauty mark like right in the bottom of the pool but after reading your response I feel better. This is how it looks!!!

Maybe different with pebbletec but in most cases the end of the hose is wrapped in rags or something to protect the surface.

An update of how the pool is looking so far! So happy with the French Gray and Puerto Rico blend large pebble. Can’t wait until is done ☺️
