patching gash in intex

This past fall I was mowing and hit a sharp rock that hurdled through the air and sliced about a 4 inch cut in my intex pool. Had I not noticed right away, I would have thought someone took a razor blade to the pool bc that's exactly how it looks. I patched the gash on the outside, but water still trickles out of the patch. I did the small patch with a bigger patch over that and then another bigger patch over the area. Are the patches supposed to go on the inside? thanks Oh, and I bought marine vinyl from a fabric store. Is that the right thing to use. I used HH-66 vinyl cement.

You did the correct patches but they go on the inside, there is thousands of pounds of constant pressure pushing on that patch.. That is why it works on the inside and not the outside
