Paint in my pool

Hi guys

I’m having some painting done in my backyard and noticed that there is overspray floating on the surface of my water. It hasn’t seemed to mix in, rather it seems like it may have dried before hitting the water (though it is water based paint).

How big of a problem is this and how can I fix? I’m thinking I may be able to get it off the surface by running the skimmer, then backwashing. Any problems with this, or do I risk the paint mixing with the water?

Quick update. The paint has sunk to the bottom of the pool and seems to be behaving like dirt at the bottom.

I’m running my pool vacuum to suck up. Then I plan to backwash (sand filter) to purge the paint.

Anything else I should consider?
