How big are the squares in the rebar? I don't see any of the things to get keep the rebar off the bottom. They allow the gunite to be all around the rebar for strength reasons. I bet they will add them but wanted to make sure.

The adobes are on the side of the pool, they'll put those in before they're done. You can see them in one pic by the baja step. [emoji1303]I'll double check on the spacing.

I know you are awake ..... lol Like Kim said earlier, check the measurements now to make sure it will be the size you want adding in the depth for gunite...

I know it probably wouldn't matter much since we are very limited on space in Cali in our yards [emoji23][emoji23] I find it amazing what we can cram in to small areas [emoji106][emoji106]

So funny thing about checking the measurements. We did a ton of that yesterday after the rebar guys asked us why we changed from an 9' diameter spa to a 7'. We had decided to change to 8' from 9 - because Mike had been having second thoughts (I wanted 7 from the start). Turns out Mike and I set the form wrong and the spa will be a 7' diameter spa. We could have moved it yesterday but Mike assured me over and over that he won't regret going smaller and doesn't want to dig anymore...I think 7 is fine since there are plenty of other places to sit in the pool and when we have a party the spa will be crowded no matter how big it is aaaand for the most part it'll just be me and him using it so it'll heat faster and cheaper

Yup! The spa we had when we first moved in was horrid and finally we convinced the landlord to fill it in as it would cost more to fix & maintain lol I can say, I do not miss it at all [emoji23][emoji23]

How you doing?? At least we had a small rain break [emoji23] but looks like starting this weekend we get some really nice weather so hopefully that will help you out a bit [emoji106][emoji106]

Man it's raining again [emoji23] we have the rebar and plumbing done. We just need to rough in the electrical and gas and call for inspection. We want to gunite as soon as it dries up. We have a pump in the deep end right now to keep our trenches dry

I know... today, tomorrow and NOW Friday.... so. Tired. Of. Rain!!! Lol I am just impatiently waiting for the warm up this weekend for a few days at least lol

Ohhhhh it will be exciting when you get the gunite as it will look like a pool!! Lol

The gunite crew is coming back out to smooth some stuff out and finish the bar stools. They had to stop because it was really starting to rain and they wanted to cover everything with a tarp and salvage what they could.

This is the first person on here I have seen this close to me [emoji23][emoji23] most are either northern cal or on the other side Of LA and we aren't going to say what a drive that would be lol

Yay!!! I get the special pool links! I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to read all of them because it'll still be awhile before we are done. Getting the gunite in was a big step though!

The gunite crew didn't change anything. I was at work when Mike and his guy put in the rough electrical and the lights aren't exactly where I wanted them (they're within 3" though). I think it won't be that big of a deal when there is water and other stuff going on.

They covered up the pool with tarps and almost forgot to punch the holes for the umbrella and table stands. Mike remembered while they were packing up and we had to pull back the tarps and punch them in while it rained. The step into the spa is a little higher than I wanted but Mike said he will grind that down a little.

[emoji4] I like it too, that side of the house definitely gets some shade! Watching the way it moves across the yard has made me think a darker decking material might work out for us maybe trex or the same wood stamped concrete we have in the front yard...[emoji51] eek! Sooooo many choices to choose from too. Now it's time to get serious about coping, tile and water color.
