On our Omnilogic setup, I can override / disable freeze protection temporarily (1-3 hours) for both our Pool Filter pump and the Spa Filter pump in the app. However, our spa has a second pump for the Spa Jets and if I try to override this pump, the app returns a message that it can't be disabled for this feature. I've scoured the manuals and can't find any rationale for this exception. This pump is 3hp single speed and is by far our most expensive pump to run and has the largest piping so somewhat less likely to freeze. I know I can go in and turn off freeze protect completely in the config for this pump, but that defeats the purpose and can't be adjusted remotely.

Anyone run into this or have suggestions on a fix? Running the latest 4.3.0 firmware.

Thanks.

Let's give your post a bump and see if any of our Hayward Automation owners can provide you some information.

So in case anyone has this issue - I implemented a workaround using interlocks. Set the Spa Jets pump on/off status to match the spa filter pump, then disabled freeze protection on the Spa Jets pump. I lose the independent control but now I can override freeze protection on both together. Now if only the feature could be set to run for x minutes every y minutes instead of just on all the time!

Can you tell me more details about how to do this? I've been using my new spa for a week, and temperatures have dropped, so freeze protection is alternating and I can't heat/use spa. Do you restart FP after using? Is there a way to turn it back to auto FP after overriding it? My Hayward system says it will override for 1 hour., which would be about the time needed to heat spa. Do you know if that means it would return to auto freeze protection? Then can I override again?

Sorry! I'm new to this and pool company is no help. I didn't realize I wouldn't be able to use the spa when it's cold out. It's Atlanta, so it doesn't get or stay cold for long, but it seems the FP is conservative, it turns on when outside temps hit about 35.
