My pentair innteliflow stopped and is giving an over current alarm. I checked the basket and it had a good bit of very fine silt. It’s mud colored, but I am guessing it might be DE. There were some leaves in the basket, but it wasn’t full.

I reached in towards the impeller, and could feel more silt, and tried to pull it out. I can’t reach the impeller

Any thoughts?

You need to unbolt the motor from the volute to get to the impleller to clean it.

Consider replacing the pump seals while you have it opened.

There are YouTube videos that show pump disassembly.

How old is the pump?

What model number is the pump?

Do you think it is DE? I don’t know why there would be so much DE in the pump basket. I haven’t backwashed in a while
I have no idea.

I doubt it is DE. The DE would need to be spit out of the returns and you would see the DE. Cloud in the pool. And then the DE would need to be sucked into the skimmers to get into the pump.

Sounds like you have leaves and dirt getting through your skimmers.

Does your skimmers have baskets in them?

Do you use skimmer socks?

Show us pictures of your equipment pad and skimmers.
