Orange staining on stone wall

We built our pool less than a year ago. Over the past couple months we noticed orange staining developing on the marble ledge stone wall behind our waterfall. It is only affecting the area directly behind the waterfall feature. I tried rubbing Vitamin C on it and using a soft brush to scrub it, but it did nothing. Any ideas on how to remove it?

Welcome to TFP.

Looks like minerals and/or metals leaching from the stone.

Try different and more vitamin C. Did you crush up the Vitamin C tablets into a paste, put it in a sock, and rub it on the areas?

I rubbed a Vitamin C tablet on one area and really scrubbed it in. Then I let it sit for about 15 minutes and wiped it off. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any difference. I could try the paste in the sock. Should I try CLR too?
