Options till I get new manifold

We tried back washing 2 days back and added DE, but the DE was coming back into the pool. Took apart the filter (Pentire FNSP48 DE) and the manifold was cracked and grid was caked up. I ordered replacement manifold and I am hoping I will get it in next 2 or 3 days. I hosed down the grid and turned off the pump.

What are my options till I get new manifold? Can I run pump with cracked manifold and cleaned grid but without adding DE (so it won't leak back into the pool)?

The FC was 0 two days back, after adding gallon of liquid chlorine it's back to 2, waiting on CYA to arrive.

If you by chance have a bypass at the filter you can avoid the water going through the filter and still circulate the water.

I have this, only options are filter or backwash that I know of.

Anything else mid pipe before the filter like a divertervalve ? Few have done it but this is why when there's room I recommend it. Should the filter be out of service you can still run the pump.
