Hello all, I would appreciate opinions on what our engineer as specified, as well as what you may recommend

Pool is 28' x 15', plus 8' x 8' 360 degree spa and 8' x 10' sun shelf on west end. East end is an 18' x 5' area holding natural stone waterfalls.

Specs:
1 Pentair Intelliflo 3hp 011056 to power pool
1 200 sf cartridge filter (no spec given)
1 32" channel drain, 3" plumbing
3 2" returns on balancing loop
1 32" channel drain for spa, 3" plumbing
1 2" spa return
2.5" spa jets (6)
1.5" spa blower (no spec given on blower)

1 Pentair Intelliflo 3hp 011056 to power waterfall
1 32" channel drain, 3" plumbing
1 2.5" return to waterfall
1 3" return to waterfall

2 nicheless lights facing up at waterfalls
3 nicheless lights in pool walls
1 nicheless light in spa
1 nicheless light in bubbler
We do not have any specs on lights. Pentair offers 12 & 15w options. Jandy offers multiple watt options. Most people in our area shy away from Hayward.

We are hoping to select equipment this week. Any thoughts or real world experience would be appreciated.

Is this a new build including pool and all equipment? If so, maybe @Newdude can move this to a New Construction thread.

Suggest that you have 2 skimmers. Both should be independently plumbed back to the equipment pad.
The main drain for pool and separately for spa will also be independently plumbed back to the equipment pad.

The suction drain for the waterfall should be located on a wall (not the floor) of the pool. Thus there is no need for a filter on that plumbing line.

The main pool filter should be increased to either a 300 sq ft or 400 sq ft cartridge filter. The bigger the better. It will allow more time between filter cartridge cleaning. Even if you have a screen enclosure, go with a larger filter.

There is a 2” spa return in addition to the 6 jets. I would ensure that 2” return has a valve on it at the equipment pad so you can control the flow to the spa. It is put there to push water to the spa to let it overflow to the pool. This is fine but you do not want constant overflow or it will be difficult to keep your pH stable.

Show a rendering of your pool and layout.

Pictures and diagrams would be extremely helpful.

Pentair Intelliflo 3hp 011056
That's a great pump, but I would opt for the new IntelliFlo3

200 sf cartridge filter (no spec given)
That's a tiny filter. Get the biggest cartridge filter you can source/afford (such as the CCP520). For some reason, FL builders love dinky filters.

Automation?

Chlorination?

Heater?

Either way, so much work is being done, construction will be had. Nice catch. (y)

Don't worry @KeysNole we can still talk about all the details here, they're just better suited here due to the scope of the project.

Old school chlorine.
Sodium hyperchlorite ? Yeah. Test the salinity once youve been at it for a season or two and you'll be surprised.

Guestimating 17k gallons, each jug of 10% bleach will raise the salt by 10. Muriatic acid breaks down into salt too. Baking soda and Calcium Chloride are salts as well. With looooooong FL seasons, you be adding alot more of all of them than me in NY.

But the good news is, salt pools (or LC pools that climbed to near salt pool levels) are only 10% of seawater salinity. Poor quality materials will break down either way from the moisture and elements, not the pool.
