Opinions / compatibility of this setup?

I'm drowning (pun intended) in options for an above ground pool. I have a backyard that gets all day sun and would be perfect.

I can go maximum width 14 feet (I think 15 will be too much for any angle in my yard) so I'm constrained on that. 30" seems a little too short also.

So at the moment I am eyeballing this 14' x 42" pool set:

Then an intex CS8110 or related SWG (looks like there have been a couple models in the past couple years)

Also, what are the main benefits of a sand filter?

I don't intend on keeping this up past September. It'll just be rainy and get cold. No reason.

Which then leads me to option 2 - one of the "easy set up" inflatable ones. I got an Intex hot tub a couple summers ago. The sun beating down in it warped the shape of it (and it felt pretty heavy duty) and it wound up needing to be returned. So inflatable options worry me a bit. Both products are designed for outdoors (you can't "hide" a hot tub from the sun) and I see people in reviews say their pools seem to stand up well in crazy Arizona style heat and sun.

Thoughts?

I definitely want an SWG either way. But smaller pools then I have to also confirm pumps and everything are matched (and get any necessary adapters) I know with the 12 foot pools it's required. 14 I think has the appropriate filter size and I wouldn't need to.

Welcome to TFP Mike!!

I'll just take one of these and say the little cart filters that come with these pools are better than not having any filter but no more. They are close to worthless compared to a decent sand filter. And don't worry, the pools are pretty durable honestly, and hold up quiet well.
