Opening g pool. New liner, well water very bad with iron. Had 3 filters and sock on hose but it was all soluble. The water has turned brown/red.

so I just started the sand filter

I am getting polyfil tomorrow and will set up contraptions

but do I add any chemicals yet?
chlorine? Ph up? Slam?

chlorine. 0
Cya. 0
PH 6.0
TA. 50
TH. 110

Check your pH. Hard to have that pH with that TA. And color match pH tests cannot test below 6.8.

You should raise the pH with some borax if at or below 6.8. Also get some chlorine in the water so you are not fighting algae too. Raising the pH and adding chlorine will make more of the iron oxidize and should be able to be filtered out. You might even try some DE in the sand filter to see if that can trap some iron.

How much de? Just what is recommended in the instructions or more
